Octave 4.X.X for Centos 6 & 7

Shane Crist
Hi,

Are there any near term plans for packaging of Octave 4.2.1 for C6 & C7?

Thanks

This is the mailing list for discussion of Octave development. Your
question is probably best directed at the Fedora package maintainers, if
you are asking about the EPEL repositories.

However, I believe the policy for the EPEL repositories is to avoid
major updates once a package has been added. So if EPEL 7 has octave
3.8, then it will remain 3.8 forever.

Others may have unsupported backports for RHEL / CentOS, and others may
be willing to work with you to develop a solution.

It's a bit out of date (4.0.3), but there is this:

https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/scitech/octave/

Maybe someday myself or some other scitech packager will have time to update
to 4.2.
