Octave 5.0 Install

Thomas D. Dean-2
I built octave 5.0 from hg sources.  Everything works.

However, the path to liboctave.so.5 is not available to ldconfig and
thus the runtime library is not available to things like standalone.cc.

To make this work, I had to

 > sudo ldconfig /usr/local/lib/octave/5.0.0

Should the installation do something like link
   /usr/local/lib/liboctave.so ==> \
      /usr/local/lib/octave/5.0.0/liboctave.so.5

That's right, you should either add the directory manually to the ld.so
cache or use the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
