Symbolic solve compatibility tests

Can someone with access to Matlab's Symbolic Toolbox test the following
different ways of calling solve:

  syms x y
  [X, Y] = solve (x*x == 4, x == 2*y, x, y)
  [X, Y] = solve (x*x == 4, x == 2*y, [x, y])
  [X, Y] = solve ([x*x == 4, x == 2*y], [x, y])
  [X, Y] = solve ([x*x == 4, x == 2*y], x, y)
  [X, Y] = solve ({x*x == 4, x == 2*y}, {x, y})
  [X, Y] = solve ({x*x == 4, x == 2*y}, [x, y])

Octave supports the first form, but currently not the others.

Dear Mike,

I have MATLAB2017a. The first four work, the last two not. For
completeness I attach the diary.
