Same crash as usual when saving an editor file (log attached).
Saving preferences does not seem to generate a crash, though.
The context menu looks different (attached).

Then I suspect, that the new class derived from QsciScintilla is the
problem (wihtout having an idea why). Could you try this next patch please?

With the new patch Octave GUI crashes immediately when creating a new document, log attached.
Saving preferences is OK.

Torsten,

Unfortunately it still does crash :(
Here's the backtrace of the crash I get by typing "edit /tmp/topolino.m"
Saving a file through the "save file" dialog produces a similar crash.
