fmincon in octave

I have a code in matlab that uses fmincon.
I need to port the code to octave.
How is it possible to find an alternative function in octave?

I find sqp to be a good replacement. I use Octave for my teaching, but many students want to use Matlab. So, I have a few examples of code that can use either. Here's one:
