Hi,

You can plot vertical lines using the syntax

plot([x, x], [y1, y2])

so a minimum working example would be, to plot a vertical line at x=5
from y=0 to y=8

plot([5, 5], [0, 8])

Questions like this are best suited to the Octave Users Discussion List,
where ironically enough somebody asked the very same question a little
more than 12 years ago...

You need to look up markersize in the Manual.
An example is:
plot([5, 5], [0, 8],"marker","o","markersize",20)

Noy quite what I think you want, but close.
