question on matlab compatible ode solver : parameters

On the octave dev source

 -- [T, Y] = ode45 (FUN, TRANGE, INIT)

 -- [T, Y] = ode45 (..., PAR1, PAR2, ...)

seems to accept parameter.

However, in MATLAB documents.

[t,y] = ode45(odefun,tspan,y0)example
[t,y] = ode45(odefun,tspan,y0,options)example
[t,y,te,ye,ie] = ode45(odefun,tspan,y0,options)

There are no description for parameter arguments.
Use of anonymous function of functions with parameters are considered.


 -- [T, Y] = ode45 (..., PAR1, PAR2, ...)

Is the  implementation octave original and for backward compatibility in odepkg solvers ?.

Is the implementation the above octave original and is for backward compatibility of the odepkg 
solvers ?
